Bridal

A few weeks ago I was booked to do make-up for a wedding.

I always leave a clients house happy, when they are happy! To me, your wedding day is one of the most memorable days in your life, you want to feel like a princess and you want everything to go as smoothly as possible. So when I see the smile on my clients face when they look in the mirror, I know I have done my job, and have truly found my passion in life.

I wish Gordana all the love and happiness in this next stage of her life. Being married and knowing you have found your soul mate is a true gift.

The beautiful Bride!

Sister of the bride, and bridesmaid.

Beautiful Bridesmaids!

almost

So there is only 17 days, 6 hours and 5 mins until I am boarding my Qantas flight and headed for the sunny skies of Europe! I don't even know where to begin to describe my excitement. Well, actually, I probably can. My excitement can be described like this - no house work for 7 weeks!!!! No more washing dishes, mopping tiles, vacuuming, dusting.. hell yes!

Im so worried that my 6 weeks of travelling are going to pass so quickly. I have to make the most of every day, I want some pretty amazing memories for when I come back.

Oh also, im on instagram and loving it! Ill most probably be using instagram during my holiday to keep everyone upto date with my travels.

Holy Crap!

It has not been 2 months since my last post has it?

Where has the time gone? What have I been doing these last 2 months that I have not blogged?
Well, I guess I have been super busy, does that excuse my absence? probably not, but I'm going with it anyway.

Our receptionist at work quit, so I ave been covering her role as well as mine, I was planning my friends baby shower, I have been busy planning our Europe holiday.. just been busy in general with life.

Speaking of Europe holiday, only 30 DAYS TO GO!!! Cant wait to be in sunny Europe... Cant wait for the beach, cocktails, yummy food, discovering new places, taking heaps of photos and just not knowing what to expect of each city that we go to.

In the 2 months that I have not blogged I managed t get sucked into another gym membership! After my last 3 wasted gym memberships( I always signed up and never actually went), i told myself I would never sign up again. Then a gym opened up across the road from work, I did a 7 day trial pass, and I loved it!!!! I now go to the gym at least 4 times a week. I do a mix of cardio and weights every time I go. I'm proud to announce that I now fit into my shorts that i bought on my honeymoon 2 years ago - perfect timing for Europe.

Promise I wont leave it for another 2 months till I blog again.

Glitter eggs

Yeah, this post is kind of delayed. Should probably have posted it last week, but i have been a little lazy.. I guess its better late than never though, right?!

I made Glitter Easter Eggs for our Orthodox Easter. I wanted to try something different. It want easy. I had glitter everywhere in my apartment afterwards!

Maybe this could also be something fun to do if you have some young kids?

Here is how it went down.

This is all you need to glitter your eggs. Pretty good considering
the result you will achieve.

The glitter was so fine, just how I wanted it.
1. Clean eggs with paper towel
2. Rub on craft glue all over the egg - I just used my fingers
3. Roll egg in glitter to make sure its all covered.
4. Leave egg to dry on baking paper

The eggs are finished and drying. Quite simple really...

Hair Wizard!

I have decided that before I go overseas I want to put hair extensions in my hair. Im so over my clip in extensions. The last thing I want to be doing every morning while gallivanting around Europe, is putting my clip in extensions. I want to be able to get up and go.

There are lots of websites on the net that I have seen that you pay for, download, and can use to see what hairstyles suit you best. I never felt like that was well spent money. It was only 2 days ago that I was whining about wanting to change my hair, and the gods heard me! They created a free app that would do just that!

Hair Wizard. Yes, that right, it is a wizard. In the truest sense, it conjures up hairstyles and boom! That hair style in on my head!

Anyhow, I know you want to see how it works, so here it is...

Here is the original pic I used of myself

And here are the looks I came up with
Red hair Milena??

Cupcaked out!

Happy Monday lovelies!

Can I just start by telling you that I had a great weekend! It was a busy weekend, I went Ikea, baked cupcakes, made lemon cheesecake, went out for a friends birthday, celebrated Orthodox Easter and caught up on missed episodes of Hart of Dixie.. Hmmm I would also say that after that list, that I had a successful weekend.  I got through all of that, and didn't pass out from exhaustion. Although, sitting at work today in front of the computer is making me feel a little sleepy.

We celebrated Easter at my in laws place on Sunday for lunch, and I promised my mother in law that I would bring some yummy desserts. So i made cupcakes and lemon cheesecake. More on the cheesecake in a later post.

Im so proud of the cupcakes that I made this weekend. It was my first time ever making cupcakes from scratch. I usually cheat and just buy the premixed box packs.

A while ago I came across Rosie's blog - http://sweetapolita.com/blog/, and can I just say every single recipe makes me drool a little over my keyboard! Ah who am I kidding, I drool alot! I used Rosie's recipe for Bakery Style Vanilla Cupcakes. I wont lie, I was nervous. I have never made my own mixture for cupcakes before, my palms were sweating..... I made sure I followed the recipe to the last letter. I wanted my cupcakes to be a huge success at our Easter lunch.

Here is how it all went down....
The Recipe
I like to be very precise with my measurements

See, very precise =)

One thing that should be mentioned in the Recipe is that because the
ratio of sugar to butter is so much greater, all the sugar doesn't dissolve.
Because it was my first time ever making this, I didn't know if what I was
doing was right or not. At this stage I considered throwing out the mixture and starting all over again.

This is what it looks like when you have added the sugar. Its not fluffy like
I imagined it would be.

After adding all the flour, milk and Vanilla extract, and beating it for a
few minutes, it turned into a thick and creamy consistency. Just how I
thought it should look. The sugar had all dissolved by this stage

All my cupcakes filled. I tried to put the exact amount in each cupcake
holder, and then smoothed them down in the hope that they would
rise evenly.

Turns out that i don't have the worlds best oven for baking. As you
can see, they did not rise evenly. It didnt bother me too much, the icing
would cover them nicely.

The icing... what can I say? It tasted delicious!

Ta-Da! The finished product =)
I must admit, they are the best cupcakes I have ever tasted.
They were a huge success at Easter lunch.

As you can see, I tried to make each cupcake original.
